Background
At a meeting of the Transition Harbour Communications group in April 2009, we discussed ideas for creating a web presence for the group. The aim was to create greater visibility in the community of the groups aims and activities, and also to provide a means of effective electronic communication within the group.
As the Diamond Harbour Community Association website was still in the planning stages, a Transition Harbour Google Group was set up to provide an interim means of communication. We have been using it to post reports of meetings by Transition Harbour groups, articles of interest, discussions and much more.
Everything posted in the discussion section is emailed to all members of the group - unless they have set this option off (which is done by clicking on edit my settings), so this provides a great way to make announcements about meetings and events.
