The sunny side of Lyttelton Harbour is just 40 minutes drive from Christchurch or 10 minutes by ferry.

Hall and Library Closed

Updated Nov 21

DH Hall and Library remain closed for for a complete re-cladding and decontamination of the site and the removal of asbestos. The building will reopen on Mon Dec 15.

DH Library users are asked to return items to an alternate library and will not incur overdue fines over this period. Those with reserved items have been contacted to arrange pickup from other libraries.

DH Rugby Club area work is completed and the clubrooms are again usable.

Vandalism in Purau

On Nov 19 (evening) in the parking area at the slipway a vehicle was broken into and another sprayed with graffiti. Police have been advised - anyone with information please contact the Police on 363 7400.

Dyers Pass Rd Closure

Part of the road in Cashmere will be closed from Mon Nov 24 for 3 weeks - detour Hackthorne Rd. Details here...

2 sea kayaks found

Near the DH jetty on Nov 19 (at night). They are currently locked up on the DH wharf. If you own them or know the owner please advise the Police on 363 7400.

Cliff Track Warning

Recent storm damage closed parts of the Cliff Track and created potential dangers in other areas. Council work on clearing fallen trees is ongoing. Please take care!

Diamond Harbour School News

Diamond Harbour School Cultural Event

The school will be hosting a Cultural Event on the afternoon of Friday November 28th. We will be exploring and celebrating the cultures and nationalities represented in our school community.
We invite members of the wider community to join us or join in: if you are proud of your heritage and are willing to share this with us (this could be traditional arts, customs, dances, food...?) then please contact tracey.janes@diamondharbour.school.nz or pop in to the school office and let us know!
